The 2015 Bradford Business Conference – the biggest event in the district’s business calendar – takes place this month at the David Hockney building of Bradford College. Preparations are now well underway for the conference, run by Yorkshire Enterprise Network, and the Telegraph & Argus, which takes place on Thursday, October 29, from 8am to 5pm. This year’s event promises to be the most exciting and interactive yet – with well over 1,000 delegates expected to take part.

The conference has grown in size and prestige since its inception four years ago, enabling local companies, big and small, to showcase their products and services, as well as bringing together businesses and organisations for the day to discuss new ideas and develop opportunities. Major partners include Bradford Council, Bradford Chamber of Commerce, Bradford College, Malik House Business Centres and L4NUK women’s networking group.

The focus will be on the Bradford renaissance, highlighting the investment in the city over the past 12 months. There will be a spotlight on the hospitality sector which has been at the forefront of the growth, giving delegates chance to experience what Bradford’s newest bars, eateries and other venues have to offer.

YEN Director Sheraz Malik said: “Last year’s conference theme was very much looking forward, as we examined the question: What next for Bradford? Since then, so much has been achieved and we are seeing all the hopes and dreams expressed coming to fruition in the biggest revival Bradford has seen in recent years.

“New businesses have been springing up across the city, underpinned by the Council’s City Centre Growth Zone scheme. The long-awaited Westfield Shopping Centre is ready to open on Broadway just a week after the conference. We felt that this year’s event should celebrate those successes and focus on the positive outcomes with a theme of ‘Bradford Now’.”

There will be seminars and speakers throughout the day with the city’s top panel session and successful entrepreneurs providing the secrets of their success. Bradford Chamber of Commerce will host the first networking session from 8am to 10am.

There will be a session run by L4N UK – the businesswomen’s networking organisation which is forging new links with YEN to open up wider networking opportunities to female entrepreneurs.

Last year’s event drew in over 800 attendees over the course of the day-long event from across the UK, who were able to see some of the biggest Bradford and Yorkshire based companies exhibit their business and services.

YEN provides the means by which its members can promote their own and each others’ businesses for their mutual benefit; to provide business support for each other; to generate business referrals and create new commercial opportunities for each other; and to help each other to develop and grow their individual businesses.

YEN provides a variety of promotional opportunities for the benefit of its members, including networking, forums, presentations, exhibitions and other events at which members can meet or be recommended to potential new associates, suppliers, or customers/clients; plus structured external online and offline marketing activities for ongoing promotion of YEN member-businesses to the public and the regional business community.
